Slotted hex nuts are hex nuts that are sometimes referred to as castle nuts with six sides and internally threaded with elevated slots or grooves on top of the nut that commonly allows for use of a cotter pin in some applications. Slotted hex nuts are available in zinc plated ZP and plain.
